Before I start with the donation recently made, I just want to inform you about the last month. All the records you can buy online, were bought with my personal money. In most cases I also paid the shipping costs with my own money and did not used the money I received from the order. And last but not least all the taxes I had to pay when the packages were hold at the customs were paid with my money. So everything I receive from an order, stays on the paypal account and will be used for donations.
It took me a little bit until I made my decision for the first donation. The first 100GBP were donated to Cruelty Free International. I decided to go with that organization, because we finally need to stop any type of animal experiments. Animals deserve a better life than living in a small cage their whole life and getting tortured every day.
Here is a short extract from their website about what they are doing: „Cruelty Free International works to end animal experiments worldwide. We do this by investigating and exposing the reality of life for animals in laboratories. We challenge decision-makers to make a positive difference for animals. And we champion better science and cruelty free living.“
If you agree with me that we need to stop this cruelty, then go ahead with reading how you can support them. First of all, be aware of the Leaping Bunny when you shop. Check the products you buy and if the company behind supports or declines animal testing. Hundreds of cosmetics, personal care and cleaning brands are certified cruelty free under the Leaping Bunny program. It’s the only globally recognized guarantee that a brand has made a genuine commitment to ending animal testing for its products. Certified companies must meet rigorous criteria, including independent audits, before they are allowed display the Leaping Bunny logo. Of course there exists also other logos o
f other companies which have the focus on ending this cruelty as well, so keep your eyes open.
If you live in Europe, you are save with buying cosmetics, as there is a full ban on testing final products on animals and every ingredient as well. But keep in mind, other countries allow animal experiments. So some companies you buy stuff from are selling cruelty free products here in Europe, but test somewhere else for other products.
You can also support Cruelty Free International by donating money, or organizing events and raising money there for a good cause. If you do not have so much money you could donate, no problem at all. By using the website EveryClick, you choose which non-profit organization receives a small amount of money, like in this example Cruelty Free International. If you need further information how to do this, check out their How-To.
